About Iconic Heart Connections Therapy

Hi! I’m Maria. I help individuals, couples, and families build stronger, healthier relationships. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, family dynamics, or personal growth, I offer compassionate support to foster deeper connections and emotional well-being.

I also provide specialized grief counselling, drawing on extensive experience in supporting individuals facing terminal illness diagnoses. Understanding that grief takes many forms, I offer a safe space for those coping with the loss of a loved one. My goal is to honour your unique journey and help you find healing, meaning, and resilience.

At Iconic Heart Connections Therapy, I believe that healing happens through conversation, connection, and collaboration. Using an integrative family therapy model, I draw on various therapeutic modalities to tailor support to each client’s unique needs.

My primary approach is dialogical—sitting in open, meaningful conversation with individuals, couples, and families to explore challenges and create pathways for change.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. Warmth and emotional safety are at the heart of my practice, allowing clients to share their experiences without fear of criticism or dismissal. When appropriate, I incorporate creativity into sessions, offering alternative ways to express and process emotions.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognize the impact of past experiences and work sensitively to ensure therapy is a place of empowerment and healing. I also integrate breathwork to support emotional regulation and well-being.

I especially enjoy working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, honoring the richness of diverse experiences and perspectives.

My goal is to walk alongside clients on their journey—helping them strengthen relationships, navigate grief, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.

Welcome! I’m Maria

Family & Couples Therapy

Relationships are the foundation of our emotional well-being, yet they can also be complex and challenging. Family and couples therapy provides a space to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflicts with understanding and empathy. Whether addressing long-standing issues, life transitions, or intimacy concerns, therapy helps create healthier, more fulfilling connections.

Individual Relationship Therapy

Personal relationships shape our experiences, yet past wounds, self-doubt, or patterns of behaviour can hold us back. Individual therapy offers the opportunity to explore relationship challenges—whether romantic, familial, or social—on a deeper level. Through self-awareness and new perspectives, you can develop healthier ways to connect with others and yourself.

Grief is a deeply personal journey, and no two experiences are the same. Whether mourning the loss of a loved one or facing anticipatory grief due to a terminal illness, therapy provides a space to process emotions, find support, and adjust to life’s changes. With extensive experience in grief counseling, I help individuals and families navigate loss with compassion and resilience.

Why “Iconic”?

Icons are more than images; they are symbols of faith, connection, and meaning. They tell stories, evoke emotion, and serve as a guiding presence in moments of reflection.
At Iconic Heart Connections, "Iconic" represents the depth and significance of the relationships we hold dear—our bonds with others, with ourselves, and with the journey of healing.

Therapy, like an icon, holds space for reflection, understanding, and renewal. It is a place to find clarity, to reconnect with what matters most, and to move forward with strength and hope.
